Application for 2017 summer conference

The 15 th Japan-Israel-Palestine Joint Student Conference

Dear Applicants:

The 15th Japan-Israel-Palestine Joint Student Conference aims to advance the dialogue amongst Israeli, Palestinian, and Japanese students. The conference also aims to promote an understanding of Israel and Palestine within Japan.

Our Goals:

1. Promoting mutual understanding

We aim to promote the mutual understanding amongst Israelis, Palestinians and Japanese students through dialogue and interaction. We will hold discussions about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as well as conversations regarding various topics ranging from cultures to hobbies. In other words, each participant will aim to become acquainted with those who one usually does not have close contact with.

2. Finding and sharing common values through dialogue

As we become acquainted with each other during the conference, we will come across many differences amongst the participating students. At the same time, however, we will come to realize many common values. Together, at the end of the conference, we will discuss the future of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.

3. Raising awareness and cultivating interests in Japan

We aim to raise awareness towards the conflicts of Israeli-Palestinian through summer conference since there are not many people who know about it in present Japan. Furthermore, we will share the conflicts and problems in Japan among the participants by mutually looking at the issues from various viewpoints. We aim to inform these conflicts not only to young Japanese participants but also to middle and high-school students and general citizens who involve in lectures and seminars.

In Japan, we Japanese students are currently preparing for the next conference. Should you have any questions or concerns, please be free to email us.
